Thank you Clare for an outstanding article.

Also for detailing the Diplock Courts-an era of injustice that I had forgotten about.

David Hume describes Trial by Jury as...

"an institution admirable in itself, and the best calculated for the preservation of liberty and the

administration of justice, that was ever devised by the wit of man."

David Hume's History of England, Chapter Two .

This right is so fundamental and goes to the core of our freedom as sovereign beings.

I only hope that the people become more aware of this as their will be a concerted effort by those that rule us to whittle this right away.

The redoubtable Craig Murray attended the court hearing on an application for relief from the proscription order against Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation on 4th July.

The following is a short quote from his article

"Let me try to offer a perspective. I have a reasonable claim not to be stupid. I topped the civil

service exams in my year and became the UK’s youngest Ambassador. It has taken me eight

solid hours to write this article to this point, not including probably twice that in thinking time.

Chamberlain’s judgment is over twice the length of this article so far. Produced in two hours,

at the rate of almost one paragraph per minute? Plainly the bulk of it was written before the

hearing – or written by somebody else. Just a thought."

Anyone who believes in the impartiality of the Judiciary is sorely mistaken and to have Judge only courts, as Claire has succinctly pointed out in her references to the Diplock era, would be a travesty of "a fair trial"

With regard to the judiciary, to quote George Carlin "It's a big club and you aint in it"

Craig Murray makes an astute observation. I would allege that the verdict was written by AI in advance, or even at the time. All you have to do is feed the correct info in to get the desired result. That's the scary thing about the AI involvement. It can collate what cases, rules and Statute you want to support your opinion and leave out the opposing ones, if you ask it to!

Sadly, there are plenty of people that think that judge only trials are a step in the right direction. They will come up with all sorts of reasons as to why, a bit like "the science", but all overlook the fact that jury trial is a constitutional right, part of the social contract, and due to jury nullification, the bedrock of any true democracy, which obviously we are about as far away from as can be!

Yes I did not consider that point about AI but I would think that you are spot on.

I also forgot to endorse the point about jury nullification-thanks
